Wonderbuilds Wondervent Pro is a premium breathable roofing membrane designed for use beneath pitched roof coverings. It helps protect against cold air and damp while allowing water vapour to escape, helping to reduce condensation within the roof construction.
Manufactured using two layers of non-woven polypropylene and a microporous film, Wondervent Pro combines strength, tear resistance and breathability. Its W1 watertightness classification, both before and after ageing, provides resistance to water penetration.
Supplied in a 1m × 50m roll, this 115g/m² pitched roof underlay offers 50m² of membrane before allowing for overlaps.
Key Features
- Breathable membrane: Low Sd value of 0.02m allows water vapour to pass through.
- Protection against the elements: Helps protect the roof construction against cold air and damp.
- Condensation control: Helps reduce moisture build-up within the roof.
- Three-layer construction: Two non-woven polypropylene layers with a microporous film.
- W1 watertightness: Maintains its water resistance classification after ageing.
- Strong and tear-resistant: Designed to withstand handling during installation.
- Black upper surface and grey underside.

FAQ's
What is Wondervent Pro breathable roofing membrane used for?
Wondervent Pro is a breathable pitched roof underlay installed beneath roof coverings such as tiles or slates. It provides a secondary protective layer against water ingress and helps water vapour escape from the roof construction.
Does Wondervent Pro help reduce condensation?
Yes. Its breathable microporous film allows water vapour to pass through, helping to reduce moisture build-up. It has a low Sd value of 0.02m. Correct installation and any required roof ventilation remain essential.
What size is the roll, and how much does it cover?
Each roll measures 1m wide × 50m long, providing 50m² of membrane before overlaps. The usable coverage will be lower once laps and roof details are allowed for.
What does 115g/m² mean?
This is the membrane’s weight per square metre. Wondervent Pro weighs 115 grams per square metre, rather than 115 grams for the entire roll.
Is Wondervent Pro waterproof?
Wondervent Pro has a W1 watertightness classification, both before and after ageing. It acts as a water-resistant underlay beneath the main roof covering and should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
What is Wondervent Pro made from?
It is manufactured from two layers of non-woven polypropylene and a microporous film, combining strength, tear resistance and breathability. It has a black upper surface and a grey underside.
Do I still need roof ventilation when using a breathable membrane?
Ventilation requirements depend on the roof design and construction. A breathable membrane does not automatically remove the need for ventilation. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance and the ventilation requirements for your particular roof.
