GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape, Reinforced Silicone Seam Sealant – 3.8Ltr & 18.9Ltr.

GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape is a thick, microfibre-reinforced silicone sealant for waterproofing seams, joints, fixings and roof details before applying GacoRoof Silicone Roof Coating.

This 100% silicone “tape in a tin” replaces traditional rubber and mesh seam tapes. Applied by brush, spatula or trowel, it follows uneven surfaces and awkward shapes, making it ideal for detailing around penetrations, flashings and changes in roof level.

Used with GacoRoof Silicone Roof Coating, it forms part of a continuous waterproofing system.

Key Features

  • 100% silicone with microfibre reinforcement: Creates a reinforced, rubber-like seal over roof joints and details.
  • Liquid alternative to seam tape: Conforms to irregular surfaces and shapes that conventional tapes can struggle to follow.
  • Thick, high-build formula: Apply using a brush, spatula or trowel.
  • Versatile detailing: Suitable for seams, flashings, fasteners, small cracks and penetrations.
  • Broad substrate compatibility: Bonds to a range of suitably prepared existing roof surfaces.
  • Resists wear from light foot traffic: Suitable for details exposed to occasional light foot traffic.
  • Light Grey finish: Available in 3.8 litre tins and 18.9 litre pails.

Typical Uses

Use GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape to prepare and seal roof details before applying the main silicone coating, including:

  • Seams, joints and roof transitions.
  • Flashings and fasteners.
  • Small cracks.
  • Vents, drains and penetrations.
  • Uneven surfaces and awkward details.

Suitable Surfaces.

Suitable substrates include aged asphalt, aged EPDM, built-up and cap-sheet roofing, concrete, fibreglass, metal, modified bitumen, spray polyurethane foam and most existing roof coatings.

Suitability depends on the condition and preparation of the surface. Check the product data sheet for compatibility and preparation requirements before application.

GacoRoof Silicone Roof Coating is available to purchase separately and should be applied over Liquid Roof Tape to complete the roof waterproofing system.

Application Guidance

Apply by brush, spatula or trowel to suitably prepared seams and details, following the manufacturer’s specified band width and film thickness. Finish with GacoRoof Silicone Roof Coating in accordance with the system instructions.

Liquid Roof Tape is a detailing product, not a roof topcoat. Only silicone coatings should be applied over it.

Sizes & Coverage

  • 3.8 litres - Light Grey - 44 metres.
  • 18.9 litres - Light Grey - 220 metres.

Coverage figures are manufacturer guides based on the standard application band width. Actual consumption depends on the surface, detail dimensions and specified film build.

Always read the current product data sheet and safety data sheet before use.

Delivery Information

Delivery Information

When ordering Gaco Products only, you will be offered two delivery options at checkout:

  • Standard Delivery: Estimated delivery within 2–4 working days.
  • Next Working Day Delivery: Orders must be placed before 11am to qualify. Orders placed after this cut-off will be processed on the following working day.

Next Working Day Delivery is an estimated, non-guaranteed service. We cannot offer a refund or discount on the delivery charge solely because an order arrives later than the estimated timescale. This does not affect your statutory rights.

If your order also includes products from other brands, checkout will display combined delivery charges. This combined service does not include next working day delivery for Gaco products. If you require this option, please contact us before placing your order.
Please advise us before dispatch of any access restrictions, road closures or other circumstances that could prevent or delay delivery. Delivery vehicles may range from small vans to rigid and large articulated HGVs. We cannot control which vehicle is allocated to your order.

We strongly recommend that you do not schedule roofing works until your order has been received in full and checked.
Checking Your Delivery

Please inspect your order on arrival. Any visible damage should be recorded on the delivery paperwork, and any damaged items must be reported to our office within 48 hours of delivery. Photographs of the packaging and affected products will help us resolve the matter promptly.

Tins may occasionally become dented or distorted during transport. Cosmetic dents do not normally affect the contents or their suitability for use, provided the tin remains sealed and intact, we would not normally refund or exchange. If a tin is split, leaking, open or has a damaged seal, please report it as a damaged item.

Returns Information

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Please contact our office before returning any products so we can confirm the correct procedure and return address. The return address may differ from our operational depot.

Products must be unused, unopened and in their original condition. For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the return delivery costs and for ensuring the goods are securely packaged.

Returned goods remain your responsibility until they have been received and inspected by our customer service team. We recommend using a tracked delivery service with suitable cover for the value of the goods. We cannot refund items that are missing from the return or arrive damaged.

These conditions do not affect your statutory rights, including those relating to faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods.

FAQ's

What is GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape?

GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape is a thick, microfibre-reinforced, 100% silicone detailing sealant. It acts as a “tape in a tin”, sealing seams, joints and roof details before applying GacoRoof Silicone Roof Coating.

What can I use it for?

Use it around roof seams, joints, flashings, fasteners, small cracks, vents, drains and penetrations. Its liquid consistency also makes it suitable for uneven surfaces and awkward transitions.

Does it replace traditional roof seam tape?

Yes. When used as part of the GacoRoof system, it replaces traditional rubber and mesh seam tapes. It conforms to irregular shapes without needing to cut and position strips of tape.

How do I apply GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape?

Apply using a brush, spatula or trowel to a suitably prepared surface. Follow the product data sheet for the required application width, film thickness and overcoating instructions.

Which surfaces will it bond to?

Suitable substrates include aged asphalt, aged EPDM, built-up and cap-sheet roofing, concrete, fibreglass, metal, modified bitumen, spray polyurethane foam and most existing roof coatings. Always check compatibility and preparation requirements before use.

Can I leave Liquid Roof Tape exposed as the finished coating?

No. It is a detailing product rather than a roof topcoat and should be used with GacoRoof Silicone Roof Coating.

Can I apply a different type of coating over it?

Only silicone coatings should be applied over Liquid Roof Tape. Check compatibility with the manufacturer before using it with a different coating system.

How much does one tin cover?

A 3.8 litre tin treats approximately 44 linear metres, while an 18.9 litre pail treats approximately 220 linear metres, at the manufacturer’s standard band width. Actual coverage depends on the surface, application width and required film thickness.

What sizes and colours are available?

GacoRoof Liquid Roof Tape is supplied in Light Grey, in 3.8 litre tins and 18.9 litre pails.

Can it withstand foot traffic?

It resists wear from light foot traffic, but this does not make the completed roof suitable for regular pedestrian use. The full roof system must be appropriate for its intended use.
