Eurofast H2O Absorbent Granule Barrier Solution – Flat Roof Water Control 1.6kg Tub.

The Eurofast H2O Absorbent Granule Barrier is a highly absorbent water-control solution designed to quickly create a temporary watertight barrier around areas where roofing, repair or maintenance work needs to be carried out.

Ideal for flat roofs affected by ponding or retained water, as well as balconies, gutters and tiled areas, the H2O Barrier helps isolate the working area from surrounding water. Simply scatter the granules around the area to be worked on and, as they absorb the water, they expand to form a temporary barrier – helping provide a dry working area for repairs and maintenance.

The granules begin working rapidly, with a watertight barrier typically forming within approximately 5–10 minutes of application.

Exceptional Water Absorption.

Eurofast H2O Barrier granules can absorb approximately 200 times their own weight in water, making this compact 1.6kg tub an extremely economical solution. A single tub is capable of absorbing up to approximately 400 litres of water.

This makes H2O Barrier particularly useful when carrying out flat roof repairs where ponding water or water retention is present, helping prevent surrounding water from continually flowing back into the repair area.

Once the work has been completed, the water-absorbing granulate can be easily collected from the surface and disposed of with domestic waste.

FAQ's

Eurofast H2O Absorbent Granules – FAQs

What are Eurofast H2O Absorbent Granules used for?
Eurofast H2O Absorbent Granules are designed to quickly absorb water and create a temporary water-tight barrier around a work area. They are particularly useful when carrying out repairs or maintenance on flat roofs, balconies, gutters and tiled areas where standing or ponding water is present.

How do Eurofast H2O Granules work?
Simply scatter the granules around the area you want to keep dry. When the granules come into contact with water, they absorb the moisture and swell, forming a barrier that helps prevent surrounding water from flowing back into the work area.

How quickly does the barrier form?
A water-tight barrier will typically form within approximately 5–10 minutes after the granules have been applied and come into contact with water.

How much water can the granules absorb?
Eurofast H2O Barrier Granules can absorb approximately 200 times their own weight in water. A 1.6kg tub can absorb up to approximately 400 litres of water, depending on the conditions of use.

Can I use them for ponding water on a flat roof?

Yes. They are particularly useful for flat roof repair and maintenance where ponding or retained water would otherwise keep flowing into the area being worked on.

Do the granules remove all the water from the roof?
The product is primarily intended to absorb water and create a temporary barrier around the work area. Depending on the amount and depth of standing water, it may be quicker to remove the majority of excess water first and then use the granules to control the remaining water.

Can I use them when carrying out an emergency roof repair?

Yes. They can be very useful when you need to isolate a wet section of roof so that repair or maintenance work can be carried out in a drier working area. Always ensure the repair product being used is itself suitable for the substrate and prevailing conditions.

Are Eurofast H2O Granules harmful to roofing materials?

The granules are designed to be non-harmful to the environment and roofing materials when used as intended.

Are the granules harmful if they come into contact with skin?
Eurofast states that the product is not harmful through skin contact when used as intended. Normal good working practices should still be followed when handling any roofing or maintenance product.

How do I remove the granules afterwards?
Once the work has been completed, the water-absorbed granulate can be collected and removed from the surface.

How should the used granules be disposed of?
According to the product information, the absorbed granulate can be disposed of with normal domestic waste. If the granules have absorbed water contaminated with chemicals or other hazardous substances, appropriate disposal requirements should be followed instead.

Can the granules be reused after they have absorbed water?

No. Once the granules have absorbed water and been used to form a barrier, they should be removed and disposed of rather than dried out and reused.

What size tub is supplied?
Each tub contains 1.6kg of Eurofast H2O Absorbent Granules.

Is this product only for professional roofers?
No. It can be useful for professional roofers, maintenance contractors and competent DIY users who need a quick way of controlling standing water during repair or maintenance work.
