MAPEI, a renowned manufacturer of construction chemicals, has recently acquired Wykamol, a UK-based specialist in waterproofing solutions. This strategic acquisition aims to expand MAPEI's product offerings in the UK waterproofing market.
Established in 1934, Wykamol boasts an impressive history of providing innovative solutions for damp proofing, structural waterproofing, and structural repairs. The company operates from two primary sites: its head office and powder production facility in Burnley, and a dedicated site for HDPE (high-density polyethylene) manufacturing and warehousing.
"A more comprehensive range of construction solutions for the UK"
Veronica Squinzi, Co-CEO of MAPEI, expressed her enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating: "With this acquisition and the recent opening of our new Speke plant, dedicated to the production of concrete admixtures, we are significantly enhancing our local production capacity and presence in the UK." Her brother and Co-CEO, Marco Squinzi, added: "The integration of Wykamol's products will enable MAPEI to offer a more comprehensive range of construction solutions for the UK market."
"More extensive range of products"
As part of the integration process, MAPEI will work closely with Wykamol's management team to ensure a seamless transition and maintain strong customer relationships. The acquisition will allow MAPEI to offer its customers a more extensive range of products, including cavity drain membranes, thereby meeting diverse construction needs with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
