What is GRP Fibreglass ?

GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Polyester. Also known as “Fibre Glass”, this flat roof system is installed using polyester resin - without the use of heat - providing a seamless, flexible & durable waterproof proof finish resistant to water, heat, and frost. The resulting surface offers a strong, good looking architectural finish and is relatively maintenance free.

GRP fibreglass roofing gives a seamless, long lasting waterproof finish to any flat roof, and is a good alternative to EPDM, felt and other flat roof coverings.

Types of Fibreglass and GRP Roof Kits

There are two different qualities, based on weight, 450g matting, is suitable for a moderate amount of foot traffic, while 600g matting is more suited to situations such as a balcony that has regular foot traffic.

Cost of Fibreglass Flat Roofing

Costs of a GRP fibreglass flat roof are comparable to felt, but offer better longetivity. They can be installed by non-tradesmen who are competent in DIY.

Installation of GRP roofing

GRP fibreglass can be installed over 18mm OSB board. Installation is a 2 part resin with matting, and finished with UV topcoat.
