KoverTek has announced, in collaboration with BRE Global, its latest achievement in obtaining Broof(T4) certification for all grades of its innovative polyester hybrid system, TekGuard.
This system has been specifically designed as a flexible hybrid polyester solution for use on new OSB3 substrates, as well as for the overlay of existing roofing materials, including mineral felt, bitumen, and asbestos.
KoverTek recognizes the importance of driving up standards in roofing systems, particularly when it comes to fire retardancy. With this in mind, the company decided to conduct tests on real-world materials commonly used in construction and roofing. OSB3 was chosen as the substrate due to its widespread use and high combustibility, providing a challenging environment for the TekGuard and TekShield systems.
To ensure that all guaranteed levels of the product met the stringent Broof(T4) standard for spread of flame and penetration, as outlined in EN 13501-5 2016, KoverTek submitted two further sets of panels for testing. The lay-up of all grades of Chopped Strand Mat (CSM) offered by KoverTek was tested, and we are pleased to announce that all grades, from 300g CSM (15-year guarantee) to 600g CSM (25-year guarantee), have achieved Broof(T4) certification, exceeding expectations with 0 mm spread of flame and no penetration.
In addition to the growing success of the TekGuard system, KoverTek is now launching a range of colours to offer a wider choice for end-users. The company has also recently released its latest edition of the roofing and ancillary brochure, showcasing the complete family of products now available, including TekPur SP, a single-part moisture-curing polyurethane liquid roof membrane, TekCryl, a high-solids/low-odour acrylic repair system, and a full range of TekStik sprayable adhesives, GRP trims, outlets, tools, and roofing kits.
